Day Five - Broken Hill

We took the dippy road into Broken Hill. Pro Hart Gallery was our first stop, not really knowing anything about him except from the Stain Master carpet commercial from years ago. Real name Kevin, his school friends named him Professor for his brainiac tendencies and the name stuck. He worked full time in the mines and painted in his spare time for 19 years. Then he got serious about art. I still love the dragonfly from the ads the best, but his sculptures are a close second.

See his miners lunchbox below, it would make any sandwich a picnic.

Justin picked up a sleeping bag for Georgina that was rated for colder temperatures and our new beanies, total bliss.

We did half a tour of the Royal Flying Doctors Service Broken Hill Base, as we missed the guided tours for the day. We will do that tomorrow. They have a good retention record for staff at this base, other RFDS bases struggle.

Morrocan chicken was the plat de jour at Chez Glamping. Mark Bernard, here is some art for you to prove I am getting back into it. I could only get lined pages out here though!
